I am a wildlife ecologist who is fascinated by the patterns we see in nature - whether it be behavioural patterns between individuals, population patterns within species, or landscape patterns between parts of the country. As humans keep changing the environment I want to understand how we influence these patterns, how we can best conserve these patterns, and ultimately how we affect the persistence of other life on earth.
I am currently a Postdoctoral Research Scientist with Dr. Eliot McIntire at Natural Resources Canada. Our aim is to use SpaDES to develop a predictive, and integrative, decision tool for boreal caribou conservation.
My PhD thesis investigated spatial ecological processes, and conservation practices, in a landscape of high human activity: "Understanding and sampling spatial ecological process for biodiversity conservation in heterogeneous landscapes"
I would like to acknowledge, with respect, the Anishinabewaki, Sioux & Plains Cree, WSÁNEC, and Champagne & Aishihik First Nations, whose traditional territories on which I've had the privilege to learn and research.
